What an amazing third quarter we've had at Coral Park. We hope you had an opportunity to celebrate your child's efforts at our Grade 2 through 5 Learning Celebrations this past week. Kindergarten and First Grade's celebrations will be taking place in May.
As stakeholders to our school, we all should be very proud of the things that set Coral Park above the rest. We have a caring. compassionate and knowledgeable staff who consistently strive to meet the individual needs of our students. We have a PTA who continuously advocate for our students and teachers and dedicate countless hours and resources to ensure that our school's needs are met. Our outdoor campus truly allows us to experience the natural beauty of our environment. This is just the tip of the proverbial Coral Park iceberg.
Something that is highlighting us on the education map is the Digital 5 initiative of personalized, blended learning in fifth grade. Currently, each of our fifth grade students have been issued a laptop. We are one of only 31 elementary schools with this program. The student textbooks are loaded on the laptop and teachers and students utilize a variety of educational platforms for their learning. The students take the laptops home to allow them access to learning 24/7. We removed the student desks and purchased tables to allow for student collaboration. We are now working on purchasing stability balls for students to sit to support their posture. The response from both the students and teachers has been overwhelmingly positive. We are now moving forward with providing laptops to our fourth grade students so they can be better prepared for the fifth grade expectations. There are just a peppering of schools that have been able to bring the program into their fourth grade classrooms. Our phenomenal PTA has been instrumental in assisting us in making this happen for our fourth grade. Digital 5 and now the Digital 4 program are further enhancements into the benefits of attending Coral Park. We are currently exploring ways to build the technology in our primary grades to support the intermediate expectations. If you have friends, relatives, or co-workers who are interested in attending Coral Park, please have them contact our office for reassignment information.
